Music and Seniors

I have been involved with music and entertainment my whole life, and in this short podcast I discuss how seniors react to music, particularly older music of their generation. I have been particularly touched by the reaction of seniors in advanced stages of dementia and Alzheimers disease, and have realised that music is the one sense that remains, and evokes a reaction even at a late stage of mental deterioration.

If you listen to this podcast, you will understand the significance of the picture below, showing two specific instruments of my youth (many years ago).

Anxiety Issues with Seniors. An Interview with a Psychotherapist

A significant problem among seniors is related to anxiety issues. This is something that, as young folk, we never even contemplated.

In this podcast, I conduct an interview with Dolores Luber, who is a senior herself, and has had extensive experience dealing with issues such as this.

Remember, if you're not already there, one day you're gonna be a senior yourself, and its a really wise choice to prepare for this.

So turn up your volume again, and listen to this podcast, which will have meaning to all of you who are either seniors yourselves, or who work with seniors. It should really give you something to think about.
